Rapa Sets his Sights on 2008 Aussie Racing Series Title:
After a tough rookie year in the Aussie Racing Car Series, Richie Rapa heads into 2008 loaded with more knowledge, experience and confidence and is aiming to be a contender for the Series Title.
The 18-year-old speedster now heads into his second year competing in the Aussie Racing Car Series and strongly believes that he is capable of contending for the Series crown that is currently held by Brad Ward.
“It was a tough debut year in the series, but it was one where I learnt so much, and that is certainly going to make me better off this time around,” the Wholesale Property Brokers supported AU Ford Falcon driver said.
“In order to be a contender in this year’s series I have to be consistent, there is no question about that, and I know that I can run up the front, and I feel that I have the package and support in order to do so.”
With the 2008 Aussie Racing Car Series kicking off on the weekend of March 7 – 9 at his home track of Eastern Creek Raceway, Rapa is high in confidence, especially considering that the Eastern Creek round of last year was his highlight of his rookie campaign.
“I cannot wait to wait return to Eastern Creek, as I certainly have some unfinished business there, considering how I managed to win the final race and then be disqualified for jumping the start,” Rapa explained.
“I’m not going to dwell on the past, and this year is a whole clean slate, and focus for me is start the year off on the right foot, and I’m loaded with confidence considering that the opening round is at Eastern Creek.”
